About Melanie
Melanie has always been passionate about helping animals which led her to pursue a degree in the Veterinary field. She attended Central Carolina Community College where she obtained a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She has over 30 years experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Melanie has always recognized that she has a unique connection with animals, along with a gentle calming touch, so she started looking into ways that she could incorporate that gift into her work with animals. She experienced the value of human Massage Therapy in 2006 while battling breast cancer, which led her to become a Certified Canine Massage Therapist (CCMT) in 2013 and started her own business, Serenity Pet Massage.
She is now providing massage/reiki sessions to pets in the Triangle area. She is passionate about the positive benefits that massage and reiki provide, and is constantly studying and attending classes to further her knowledge and abilities. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, she is truly set apart by her ability to communicate well with both the pet parents and their Veterinarian.
Melanie shares her home with her husband Michael, two beautiful adopted Collies, Willow and Dixie, and an adopted Terrier mix Gypsy, and three wonderful adopted cats: Sammie, Mork and Marley. Along with all her four legged babies, she is also the proud mom of two beautiful adult daughters.
